Interview with Karol "Carlos" Kędzierski #26

MX Lipno / Bros Racing Yamaha

🏆 Polish Cup MX Masters & MX Open Champion

The 2025 season was full of fire, dust, and excitement, but there are riders who can stand out even in such a crowd. Karol Kędzierski, known as Carlos, is one of them. The MX Lipno and Bros Racing Yamaha rider took it all this year: the Polish Cup championship in the MX Masters and MX Open classes, a podium finish in the Amic Energy Super Cup and the North Zone. But it's not just the numbers—Carlos' riding style, character, and passion are evident in every corner.

Personally, he impressed me in Chojna, where after the Masters race, he immediately jumped into the Open class… and won again. Without a break, without a breath, with full fire. And then there's the cameo in "Ojciec Mateusz" where he rode a motorcycle in a cassock—seriously, you have to see it.

I caught up with him for a quick chat—no pressure, no script. Just about how he feels, what drives him, and what he would do if he never got on a motorcycle.

Carlos, this season has been nothing short of incredible – two Polish Cup championships, podium finishes at Amic Energy and the Zone. Be honest, what was the most moving moment for you? It gave me chills.

Carlos : It's true, the season was elegant, and I can say that my form was good. There were a lot of great races with my brother and Lauris in the Masters class. The competition was very close.

I really like racing in the open class, especially when a lot of guys from the 125 class join - because they have the potential and that freshness

Karol, are you still 18? In Chojna, you ran two races in a row, without a break, winning both. I barely had time to adjust my camera, and you were already at the start. Where does this energy come from?

Carlos : 18? Nah. Everyone knows I'm 25.

It often happens that we have a better or worse day - then the better one happened

There are moments when something doesn't add up from the very beginning and we have no energy - for example, Saturday's races in Olecko are one of them.

What's it like riding for Bros Racing Yamaha and with the MX Lipno team? Do you feel like this is your home on the track?

Carlos : With the Bros Racing team we make a very close-knit and cool team, and it's the same with MX Lipno, where there's a family atmosphere between all of us.

And that "Father Mateusz" thing—how did that even happen? Riding a motorcycle in a cassock... that sounds like a scene from a Tarantino movie.

Carlos : I'll tell you in secret that "Father Matthew" was not my only contact with television.

But getting back to the cassock—it was a mess, and those patent leather shoes on my feet... Not only did my feet fall off the footrests when I tried to ride standing up, but the cassock got caught in the sprocket, pulling me off the bike. Not at all what God intended.

What's your off-season training like? Do you do anything special to stay in shape, or do you just can't seem to get away from your bike?

Carlos : If the weather's nice, I definitely take advantage of every moment to get on my bike. But you know how it is—work and responsibilities don't always allow for that.

When it comes to training outside of the bike, Hania and I have been doing CrossFit for the past year, and honestly, we've gotten a bit into it. And since competition runs in our veins, we decided to compete in that discipline as well 😁

Are there any players who inspire you or who you enjoy racing against? The kind that, when you're standing next to them in goal, you know it's going to be a firestorm?

Carlos: I'm inspired by anyone who has a lot of passion and dedication. So, it doesn't matter if I'm next to a youngster or a more experienced athlete—what matters most is that we put our whole hearts into it.

Motocross isn't just a sport, it's a lifestyle. What's most important to you about it all—the adrenaline, the people, the atmosphere?

Carlos : Each of those things you mentioned makes motocross whole. When one of those things is missing, it's just not the same.

What's next? 2026 – defend your titles, are you planning something new, maybe another TV appearance?

Carlos : Time will tell, time will tell…

But seriously, the plan hasn't changed in over 20 years, so I'm not going to change anything this season either. Above all, have fun while maintaining a good level.

Carlos, you also race with your brother—and often to the point. Tell me, how do you feel when you stand side by side in goal? Is it more of a rivalry or a motivation?

Carlos : Competing with Łukasz has always been very motivating. We're both at a similar level—I think we've motivated each other since we were little.

If you could go back in time and not choose motocross, what else would you be drawn to? Football, basketball, maybe something completely different? Where do you think you would be today?

Carlos: Since I was a child, I loved tinkering, assembling model kits, and other precision activities – such as making rings or wedding bands out of gold.

Hania says I would also be suitable for doing nails.

Thank you very much for the interesting questions, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supports me and cheers me on.

Carlos is a rider who doesn't just win—he leaves a mark. In his riding style, in his relationships with people, in the way he talks about the sport. This interview isn't just a summary of the season, but also a piece of his story. Thanks for your honesty, for your relaxed attitude, and for showing that motocross is more than just a finish line.

Thanks also to everyone who supports Carlos—on the track, off the track, in life. It's people like you who create this atmosphere.

See you at the next competition!
